Transfer to a friend

If your Event Organiser allows transfers, when you login to Manage Booking you'll see the card titled 'Transfer'. However, if they do not allow transfers, or your ticket is non-transferrable this card will be grey and not clickable.

 

Step 1

You need to access your Manage Booking page in order to start your transfer. In your confirmation email, you’ll find a section called ‘Need to make a change?’ with a button to Manage your booking. Or, you can login to your Let’s Do This account, view your profile and find the link to Manage Booking in ‘Your Bookings’ tab.

 


Step 2

Select transfer from the list of options.

If transfers are not available for your race, then this option will show in grey. This could be because:

  1. The Event Organiser does not allow transfers
  2. The deadline to transfer has passed
  3. You chose to pay via a payment plan and haven’t completed the payments yet
  4. Your entry was given to you (by the event organiser, a corporation, charity or other business)
  5. You bought one of the following tickets:
    1. Charity or fundraising
    2. Ballot
    3. Team
    4. Application

 

Step 3

Enter your friend’s email address to send them the link to claim your place.

The link will be emailed to them at the address you give us, but you also have the option to send the link yourself using the ‘copy link’ button.


Your transfer is not confirmed until your friend has entered the event, filling in their details and paying any admin fees.


Your friend must book using the email address you gave when you sent them the link. The ticket will be 100% discounted, but they’ll still need to pay any admin fees the Event Organiser has set. Your friend does not need a Let’s Do This account, the discount will be automatically applied at checkout when they use the link.


Your friend will pay any admin fees when they enter the event.

 


Step 4

Once your friend has booked, they will receive a confirmation email.

Your original entry will then be cancelled and the transfer is complete.



FAQs


Who pays the admin fees?

Your friend will pay any admin fees when they enter the event and claim your place. They’ll pay this at the time of checkout. Both the discount of your original ticket price and the admin fee will be automatically applied when they follow the link.


What’s the transfer deadline?

The transfer deadline is set by the Event Organiser and is the date by which all transfers must be completed. Your friend needs to enter the event by this date. It’s not enough to have just sent the email. Your friend will get an error screen if they try to enter the event using your link after this date. Your entry will only be cancelled once your friend has entered the event, so if they don’t do it by the deadline you can still attend.


Will my booking be cancelled immediately?

No, your booking will not be cancelled until your friend has entered the event and claimed your place. If your friend does not accept the transfer, or if they don’t enter before the transfer deadline, you can still attend the event.


What if I got my friend’s email address wrong?

You can go back to your Manage Booking page, select transfers and overwrite the email address, sending out a new link. This can only be done if the original link has not yet been claimed.


What if the event I entered is sold out?

It’s up the Event Organiser whether they allow transfers on sold out events. You can find out by visiting Manage Booking and seeing if the transfer option is available for your ticket.


What happens if I purchased add-ons?

All add-ons will be cancelled without a refund. Get in touch with the Event Organiser to find out their policies on this.


What happens if I purchased Ticket Protect?

Unfortunately Ticket Refund Protect cannot be refunded if you want to transfer your entry.


What happens if I purchased a BTF pass or USAT pass?

These are specific to the participant, so we would not be able to transfer any BTF or USAT passes. Your friend will have to buy their own pass or membership when they enter the event and claim your place.


How can I check if my friend has entered the event?

You can check on Manage Booking, you’ll see if your transfer is still in progress or if your entry has been cancelled because your friend has entered.
