Great Run Events (excluding Great North Run)
For Great Run event entries, you may be able to:
Transfer your entry to a friend for a £10 transfer fee
Request a medical withdrawal, with a refund minus a £5 fee
Medical Withdrawals
To request a medical withdrawal, you’ll need to provide a doctor’s or physiotherapist’s note. This must detail your injury and confirm that it prevents you from taking part in the event.
You must submit a transfer or medical-withdrawal request at least 6 weeks before your event.
To submit your preferred request, contact Great Run via their Support Portal.
Great North Run Entries
Great North Run entries have different options:
You can defer your entry up to 48 hours before the event through your Manage Bookings page. This is accessed via the link in your confirmation email (not your application email)
You can request a medical withdrawal, with a refund minus a £5 fee.
If your entry was provided by a charity, run club, or community, please contact them directly to find out what options are available to you.
